Collaborative Efforts Lead to 36,000 Jobs Across the Region
The Northeast Ohio 2012 Year-end Economic Development Report illustrates the combined impact of 10 private-sector economic development organizations in 2012 – BioEnterprise, Greater Akron Chamber, Greater Cleveland Partnership, JumpStart, MAGNET, NorTech, Stark Development Board, Team Lorain County, Team NEO and Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber.
Together, these organizations’ efforts led to business investment and growth projects that are projected to create or retain 36,363 jobs, $1.652 billion in payroll and $1.767 billion in capital investment. In addition, commitments from angel and venture capital investors resulted in the attraction of $212 million in equity by 108 Northeast Ohio companies throughout 2012.

Highest Point in Past 20 Years
Employment is projected to be at 2.57 million workers by 2022, its highest point in the past 20 years, reports the quarterly Cleveland Plus Economic Review released today by Team NEO. Occupations with the most job openings through 2022 include healthcare, office and similar occupations, and production.
